Other Advice: Although the number of Music units studied is unrestricted, no more than 40 credits (4 units) can contribute to first 60 credits for aggregate/ATAR . (The SACE board pairs units for best total aggregate/ATAR)
It is recommended that the students undertake instrumental tuition and have completed at least 2 years of instrumental tuition.
Course Outline:
Students develop ensemble performance skills as well as aural perception, musical sensitivity, and an awareness of style, structure, and historical conventions.
Participation in regular rehearsals and performances (some of which may be outside of school hours) is required.
Topics Covered:
Students develop skills on a chosen instrument or their voice and apply these skills and other musical knowledge in an ensemble.
Length of course: Full year
Credit points and TAS status: 10 Credit TAS
Recommended Background: Successful completion of Stage 1 Musicianship, Stage 1 Music Studies, Stage 1 Music Appreciation, equivalent level of performance skills.
